Hey ya~
I'm back in Tokyo~ woohoo~~
I'm so glad I get to come back to Japan this time~
but man...it's like over 30 degrees everyday...
No one told me that it's still this hot!!
But man, my journey was long...and stressful..
Brisbane → Taipei flight.
I always sit next to someone who's really rude and has no manners.
So this time, as I got onto the plane, hoping that I might
sit next to someone good.
It was a young Aussie guy sitting next to me.
I was like "yea cool. He should be a good bloke".
but....
Maybe about 4 hours into the flight... The aircraft was all
dark and everyone was either sleeping or watching movies.
And I could see from the corner of my eyes... this guys was getting bored...
then he puts his sun glasses on and opens the window. A sharp
sun light came in and blinds me... u know? once or twice is bearable...
but this guy, opened the window for over 15 mins maybe
2 times every 30 mins until we landed in Taiwan...
I couldn't sleep, I couldn't watch movies... and everyone else on the plane
getting a little angry at this guy too..
A guy who doesn't see what's around him and doesn't consider for others...
Taipei → Narita flight.
Thanks to that Aussie guy, I had no expectations for the person who
I'll be sitting next to on this flight. Next to me was 2 young Taiwanese
girls. They were going to Japan for the first time with a tour group.
They asked me if I was Japanese and conversations kinda started there.
They were really nice people, friendly and fun. I told them where to go
in Tokyo and where to shop. but the problem wasn't them...
It was the people behind us...
Behind us sat a family of 3, Father, Mother and a son. The parents were
quite old, coz the son was around 40ish. but man, the son was talking
like a little kid... "Mummy, I can't eat this" or "Daddy, I can't sleep"..
Anyhow, maybe this guy was sick, but he kept on coughing for 3 hours of
the flight without covering his mouth...I turned around and looked back
a few times, but he didn't notice it and kept on coughing out loud.
The girls and I kinda looked at each other and rolled our eyes...
After we landed and we all got up from our seats and waiting to get off
the plane, I hear the father talking to the son saying
"please cover your mouth when you cough ok?"
I was like What the?? why now? why not before??
Isn't he ashamed being over 40 and getting told something that's
common sense?
I finally got out from the gates with no problems at all. The time was
1:50pm and a bus was leaving for Ikebukuro (my town) in 5 mins time.
So I caught it.
Got to my apartment at 3:30pm drenched in sweat. It's so damn hot!
I've had 3 years of Winter straight, so probably can't handle this heat..
I couldn't wait to turn on my air-condition in my room...but..
hur? what the.. the lights won't turn on...
Then I remembered that I shut off the breaker before I left Tokyo.
I turned back up the breaker...but..still no light...
maybe my electricity has been cut off??
Anyhow, dropped off all my luggage and went to 7Eleven to buy credit
for my Japanese prepaid mobile phone. (I turned off my Japanese mobile
when I was in Brisbane, and didn't charge the batteries at all.) I only had
1 block of the battery left, but I still called up the Electrical company.
I was told that I had overdue payment. but that's strange, coz when I
moved into this room, I applied for a direct bank payment from my
Japanese bank account. But apparently they don't have that on record...
And I was told that I had to give them a call back when I pay the bill at a
convenient store. Since I had no battery left on my mobile, I told the
lady on the other side about my low battery situation and asked the lady
if she could send someone over now while I go pay it at a convenient
store.
She told me that she couldn't do that coz it's not in the rules. I was so
angry the fact that she knew my situation of low battery, and my phone
could cut off any second.
I said "Listen, my mobile will cut off soon, so I can't call you back......."
yup, battery died....$%^$^#%$%#$^
Anyhow, I decided to find that piece of paper from the Electrical company
which I need to have when paying at a convenient store in my Post box.
HOLLY CRAP~~~!!! @.@
My tiny post box was packed full with bills and mostly junk mails...
2 months worth. Took me 20 mins to get them all out and throw away
the junk mails. While I was separating the junks and the bills,
I was thinking..."what shall I do? Got no power to charge my phone,
and there's no public phone around these days in Tokyo..."
Then I saw something next to the elevator that made me smile from
my ear to ear...
A power socket~~!! Woo hooo~~
I ran to the convenient store and paid my bills, then came back and
sat next to the elevator with my phone charger and called up the
electrical company. They told me that they'll be here in about an hour
and a half.
Around 6pm, they finally came and turned on the power for me.
I was so relieved and finally I thought I could relax and take a shower.
I turned on the hot water, but...no hot water...
I got out from the bathroom and turned on my gas cook stove in the
kitchen. A Blue flame came out, but 5 seconds later....it disappeared..
WHAT THE~~?!?!?!? No Gas too??? @#$#@$%
I also applied for the direct bank payment with the gas company too!
It was nearly 7pm so the gas company wouldn't be open now... I had
to call in the morning. Since it was so hot, I thought I wouldn't mind
taking a cold shower~ *SNEEZE*
Doesn't matter in summer or winter, a cold shower is so damn cold!!!
The next morning (yesterday) I called up the gas company and asked
if my bank details were in the system. yes they had it in the system,
but the application went through on the 21st of May, and the payment
before that date wasn't paid yet. I was like, you guys know my bank
account, so just take out the damn money!!!
but anyhow, they said that the only time someone can come turn on my
gas was at 5pm. I had to be at my agency for a meeting at 2pm...
another cold shower it is... *SNEEZE*
So, my long journey... I'm finally here settled in Tokyo.
It was a lot of running around, but it was fun~ hehe
On the 6th (tomorrow) I've got a gig at GInza city, so I've got a
meeting at 5pm and at 7:30pm with my client.
I'll tell you more about it on my blog tonight~
Man, such a long blog entry~
